Medical Weight Loss and Peptide Therapy
At Amaka Aesthetics, our Nashville plastic surgeon, Dr. Amaka Nwubah, does quite a lot in the realm of body contouring. That said, we do have a BMI limit on surgical procedures for safety reasons, and that limit is 35. Over time, our team has noticed a gap in healthy weight loss options before surgery to help patients get to that limit and also to help maintain weight after surgery. In recognition of this gap, Amaka Aesthetics now offers a program to aid in non-surgical weight loss as well as building healthy, lean muscle mass to empower our patients to optimize their health.

- Mimics two natural gut hormones (activates the GIP and GLP-1 receptors)

- Helps you lose weight when COMBINED with diet and exercise
- Delays gastric emptying (makes you feel full faster and longer)
- Lowers Hemoglobin A1C
- Decreases appetite
What Is Included in My GLP-1 Receptor Agonist Injection Protocol?
GLP-1 Receptor Agonist Injection Therapy:
- You will receive the GLP-1 receptor agonist solution in a vial
- You will inject yourself once weekly (on the same day each week)
- This vial will last you 12-14 weeks
Zofran:
- These dissolve on your tongue to reduce nausea. They will be called into your pharmacy of choice and you are responsible for payment to that pharmacy.
B12 injection:
- You will receive a premixed vial and you will inject yourself once a week on the same day as your GLP-1 receptor agonist injection.
- Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient to support energy production, neurological function, and the formation of red blood cells. When combined with the GLP-1 receptor agonist solution, B12 can enhance the medication’s effectiveness and support overall health, and reduce side effect profile.
